Paula Green-Smith
Paula S. Green-Smith is President and CEO of Urban Health Resource-Urban Health Resource (UHR-UHO), a Detroit, Michigan non-profit established in the mid-nineties to provide health care services, health education, and community outreach to Detroit’s most vulnerable. UHR is one of BWHI’s original affiliate organizations to deliver the CDC’s lifestyle change program and one of our first program partners to receive “Full Recognition” from the Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program (DPRP).
Paula provides the overall leadership for UHR-UHO’s lifestyle change program, building the organization’s capacity to deliver and sustain this life-saving program locally. Paula was trained as a BWHI lifestyle coach in 2012, has facilitated several groups since then, and trained numerous lifestyle coaches. Paula also coordinates the training and technical assistance activities for BWHI and provides on-going coach development and advanced skills training for our affiliates’ lifestyle coaches.
Before her tenure with UHR-UHO, she developed health and wellness programming for Detroit’s Greektown Casino where she served as Director of Training and Development for over seven years. She was also an Associate Dean at Oakland Community College and is the President/Principal Consultant of The Green-Smith Group, Inc.
