Mashariki Jywanza

As a lifelong resident of Indianapolis, IN, Mashariki graduated from Butler University and completed her graduate studies at Indiana University-Perdue University. She retired from the Indianapolis Public Schools district but continues to support public education.

Mashariki considers herself a community, family and youth advocate and is engaged in numerous activities to better her community. She has also made several trips to West Africa where she was honored and installed as a Queen Mother in Ghana West Africa, Volta Region in 2007. She recently formed a foundation to support children in her village of Kpotame.

Mashariki has been a lifestyle coach with one of our original affiliates, the Indiana Minority Health Coalition, since 2014; and she applies her awareness as an educator to adult learning strategies ensuring her participants have the best opportunity to be successful.
